Greetings, this article answers an important question that is on many minds of upcoming engineers from the hardware field. Will robots take my job? Are they going to replace us?

It is true that robots and automation are rapidly growing in industries. They are being used for many repetitive tasks in logistics and manufacturing like drones are used for delivering and robotic arms are used to handle the product in industries. Robots can do a job better than humans, they are more precise and can work without any breaks or vacations. So, companies are preferring automation over workers. Automation is predicted to displace 20 million manufacturing jobs by 2030.
However, in the 1850s when trains were the most popular mode of transformation, the jobs of conductors, brakemen, and engineers were booming. But that declined by the early 1900s. This was the era when automobiles were introduced, and although this led to a fall in jobs which are related to the rail, there was a boom for garages and automobile engineers. Something similar is expected to happen this time too.

Even though robots will replace a type of job but will give rise to others. Well, someone has to program the robots and someone has to keep a check and manage the robots. This will require more skilled workers. Training for this more skilled job will be really tough for the existing set of workers but the new generation can be easily trained and can take up the new jobs. On the other hand, many jobs are not in danger due to robots. You would not like a teacher or a nurse or your customer care to be a robot.
